Seattle First Baptist Church founded Companis in 1994 as a way to match dedicated and skilled volunteers with partner agencies doing vital work in the community. Companis became a 501c3 in 1997, but SFBC has continued to contribute important support for our mission. So we are happy to place new Companis Worker Cherry Johnson with SFBC, where she will serve as Retreat Coordinator. Cherry recently retired after 22 years at Bailey-Boushay House, where she was a social worker serving those with HIV/AIDS, Huntington’s Disease, ALS and other complex conditions. Cherry especially appreciates Companis’ robust program of support for our volunteers with regular gatherings, retreats, networking opportunities and training sessions. Thank you, Cherry, for your trust and support, and thank you SFBC.
