Companis Spotlights Food Security

Oct 11, 2021

It was a busy summer for Companis. In addition to a steady stream of volunteer professionals contacting us and conversations with nonprofits about positions that need to be filled, we also celebrated some of our partners who feed our neighbors. The “Companis Spotlight On Food Security” event took place on July 31st at Seattle’s Mount Zion Baptist Church. Kudos to our event planners, volunteer professional Joanie O’Brien and staff member Cynthia Hunter.  An event like this is a big lift from lining up participants to setting up and breaking down. We also appreciate the nonprofits that participated. They included: Mount Zion Baptist Church, Hip Hop Is Green, Emergency Feeding Program, Feed the Need, and Community Loaves. They each took turns on the mic to talk about how they fight food insecurity, how Companis supports them, and how each of us can help. Read excerpts from their speeches in our blog post, Spotlight On Food Security – What We Heard That Day.
