A New Chapter for Companis

Companis is joining Project Access Northwest, and the Companis you know and love carries right on.

The heart of Companis stays exactly the same

  • The same team you know and trust
  • The same programs and skilled volunteer placements
  • The same partnerships and day-to-day contacts
  • The same Everett office
  • The same mission, strengthening the nonprofits that serve our community

What grows

  • Our Seattle office moves just two blocks south, into the Project Access Northwest building
  • Companis becomes part of a larger organization, with more behind us than ever before

What becomes possible

  • Greater reach across more of Washington
  • More neighbors connected to care, and more nonprofits strengthened
  • The next chapter in thirty years of meeting the moment

Meet Project Access Northwest

We could not be more excited about who we are joining. For two decades, Project Access Northwest has connected our most vulnerable neighbors to the health care they need, matching people with a network of volunteer doctors, dentists, and specialists across Washington. Like Companis, their work runs on the generosity of skilled volunteers who give their time and expertise where it matters most.

It is a natural fit. They connect people to care, and we strengthen the organizations that serve our communities. Together, we reach further than either of us could alone. We are proud to call them our new partners, and we cannot wait to introduce you.

Reaching New Heights Together

For more than thirty years, Companis has met the moment. We took shape in the early days of the HIV crisis and the movement to shelter refugees seeking sanctuary. We grew when the Great Recession deepened need across the region, and again when the pandemic stretched nonprofits to their limits. Each time, we asked the same question: what does this moment ask of us, and how can skilled volunteers meet it? Joining Project Access Northwest is our next answer, and it is a joyful one.

Together, we will do more than either of us could alone. Project Access Northwest connects our most vulnerable neighbors to the health care they need. Companis strengthens the nonprofits that serve our communities. United, we connect people to care and build the capacity of the organizations doing the work, across a greater part of Washington than ever before.

And the heart of Companis stays exactly as you know it. The same team, the same programs, the same skilled volunteers placed where they are needed most. What grows is our reach, our stability, and what becomes possible.

None of this would be possible without you. Your support, your service, and your belief in this work are what brought us here. We cannot wait to show you what comes next.

With gratitude and excitement,

Jillian Harmon, Associate Executive Director, Companis
