Companis is proud to share our new Impact Report with you, showing the work we’ve accomplished so far in 2023. We are fielding a greater number of requests for our services over last year (22% higher), a reality of society’s post-pandemic needs. At the same time, more of our neighbors are seeking to serve our community through a Companis volunteer opportunity. The result? In the first nine months of this year, we’ve surpassed our results for all of 2022, with 68 placements at 48 nonprofits in King and Snohomish counties.
We anticipated this growth, having expanded our work into Snohomish County during the pandemic, knowing the need for skilled volunteers would rise in its aftermath. By establishing a new Everett office and hiring a program manager for Snohomish County last year, we were ready and prepared for 2023. I wanted to share this report with you now, as we prepare for Showcase ’23, our annual fundraising event and celebration of our Companis Workers’ accomplishments. Please join us at Companis Showcase on Thursday, October 19th, at Town Hall Seattle, from 5 to 7 pm. Registration is simple and easy on our website, Companis.org.
Our Showcase theme is “Showing Up and Building Community,” which is what our Companis Workers and staff are accomplishing every day of the week. Our program features guest speaker Dr. Felisa Bryant of The IF Project, a Companis partner nonprofit, and an agency building community and support for incarcerated adults and our recently-released neighbors. Their work is truly inspiring, and you don’t want to miss it. We’ll also have delicious hors d’oeuvres, wine and non-alcoholic beverages and dessert, and great company. This is an important fundraiser for us. With our tremendous growth, we’ve set an ambitious goal of raising $200k during Showcase ’23. You are, and have been, a wonderful Companis advocate and supporter. I hope you and your guest will be with us in person, or view the event through our livestream at Companis.org, on October 19th.
